Bathroom Size

Subscribe AfreenAli

As per Home Ventilation Institute

Bathroom Size                         Minimum Ventilation (CFM) Required*

Less than 50 sq. feet                  50 CFM OR 25 LPS     (50 sq. feet  = 4.645 square meter)
                                                                       (100sq.feet = 9.29 squrare meter)

50-100 sq. feet                           1 CFM  = 1 per sqare  foot of floor space

More than 100 sq. feet                     Add the CFM requirement for each fixture:
                                                               Toilet 50 CFM
                                                               Shower 50 CFM
                                                               Bathtub 50 CFM

Example

Toilet                                         1.8 M X 2.2 M = 3.69 M2 so 50 CFM is enough as  per Home Ventilation Institute

Space Area for Lav or wash basin area   3M X 4M = 12M2 OR  129 sq.feet . its mean 130 CFM

Butterfly valve with tamper switch.

·        Commonly used in fire protection .Dual electronic supervisory tamper switch for connection to fire control panel and auxiliary device (e.g., bell or horn)

·
A tamper switch is a mechanical and electrical device connected to a fire protection valve that signals a warning if the valve partially or fully closes.

Most Common Fire Protection Tamper Switches

Regardless of the type of tamper switch, they all function similarly. The tamper switch features an actuating unit, usually a lever or cable with a resting position
·         When the valve closes, the actuating unit breaks an electrical circuit which triggers a signal. Think of it like a light bulb: when the light switch is on, a circuit is formed and the bulb shines brightly. When the switch is turned off - or, in the case of a fire protection tamper switch, the valve closes - the circuit is broken. For tamper switches, this broken circuit creates a signal. In most jurisdictions this does not mean the fire alarm goes off, though check with your Authority Having Jurisdiction to make sure of your local rules, but rather the tamper switch sends the signal to a fire control panel which creates a record of the incident.

TYPES OF SUPPRESSION SYSTEMS FIRE FIGHTING

FM-200

FM-200 systems reach extinguishing levels in 10 seconds or less, which stops ordinary combustible, electrical, and flammable liquid fires before they can cause significant damage.

CO2 Fire Suppression Systems

Commercial and industrial facilities can increase on-site safety with CO2 fire suppression systems. This type of systems provides extra fire protection and safety for potential hazards, as they discharge a fire retardant that doesn’t conduct electricity or damage property.

Novec 1230

Novec 1230, fluid is a low global warming potential Halon replacement for use as a gaseous fire suppression agent. Novec 1230 is manufactured by 3M. It is generally used in situations where water from a fire sprinkler would damage expensive equipment or where water-based fire protection is impractical, such as museums, banks, clean rooms and hospitals.
3M Novec 1230 fluid does not deplete ozone and has a global warming potential of 1 over 80 years, equivalent to that of carbon dioxide.

FE13

FE-13TM is the preferred Halon replacement (Halon 1301) in total flooding and inerting applications where its low toxicity provides for improved safety margins, the protected spaces are large, the cylinder storage area is remote from the protected space, or where the temperatures are likely to go below 0°C (32°F). Of the clean agents available, FE-13TM has the lowest toxicity and is the safest for protecting areas where people are present. FE-13TM provides the ultimate in human safety while protecting high-value assets and business continuity with a clean agent.

Foam Fire Suppression Systems

Foam suppression systems are especially useful for buildings that handle anything flammable. The makeup of the foam is water, air and foam concentrate. Together, the mixture creates a blanket and extinguishes the flames by cooling and coating the blaze, eventually smothering the fire.
